Polytechnique
They do not target by subject, at least in the U.K., so you would be better off looking at generic target universities. For engineering this would mean Oxbridge and Imperial. Idk about McK or Bain, but for BCG you would pass the online screening stage with a minimum 2.1. from Oxbridge, LSE or Imperial. Any other university you need a 1st class degree or 2.1. and a MSc from either Oxbridge, Imperial or LSE.
Cambridge has by far the most rigorous engineering degree in Europe and lots of alumni in consulting. I think the #2 feeder schools are Politecnico di Milano and Imperial College followed by Polytechnique. Oxford doesn’t have a strong engineering degree - haven’t seen many people end up in consulting.
dude...Polytechnique is by far the best in Europe. Where do you get your stats?
My comment was based on my experience alone, but I have since ran a search in an employee database (I work at an MBB firm) and LinkedIn and they confirm exactly what I said before.
I think it will depend - MBB in Europe recruits on a local basis as far as I know. So for the UK it will be Cambridge>Imperial=Oxford (due to Oxford name although not as strong as Inperial). In France there is a more obvious ranking due to how the system works with Polytechnique (X) leading the pack. In Germany it goes somewhat like this: TU Munchen, TU Berlin, KIT, LMU. Not too sure about Italy/Spain but there must be local ‘targets’.
