Break into European Management Consulting?

I'm a junior at a target school for consulting in Canada (do not have Canadian passport). I have an offer to work at a very well known firm (in Canada) under their internal consulting arm.

I realized it isn't a good idea to stay here long term. I was wondering what is the process for recruiting for a summer internship within T1 management consulting (MBB, Kearney, etc). I've tried looking for an exact timeline but haven't found anything. Is networking required? Are there any specific guides/resources that'll help?

I'll be doing exchange in Europe this upcoming semester (Jan-April) and was wondering if it makes sense to go around different cities to network with the main offices (mostly looking at Amsterdam/Brussels/London)

Any and all inputs are appreciated!!
