Confused about MBA - Re-recruit path?

From my understanding, lateraling to MBB from a T2 / boutque firm can be somewhat difficult, and people generally tend to lateral to MBB after getting an MBA. However, I’m curious if people

A) get their current firm to sponsor an MBA, go back to that firm for stipulated time (seems to be 2 years), THEN go to MBB, or

B) get MBA and recruit to MBB directly from business school (from my understanding, firms won’t sponsor an MBA unless you agree to work at said firm for a stipulated amount of time after receiving an MBA, so bschool would be paid for on your own)
