Confused Accenture Interview

So I got an Accenture finance interview for a Summer Analyst position and wondering why they would interview an Environmental Engineering Master's student at a target school. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Accenture IT consulting. I do not have a background in anything dealing closely to computers let alone programming (I hate that stuff).

Unless there's a mgmt consultant group within Accenture?

Also, what should I expect during 1st rounds? Case study/ Behavioral questions?

Thanks guys!

They hire smart people - there is an energy group and a management strategy group.

Do your research on the website but ask questions about types of assignments and "career paths". The key financial area is an assignment to the Financial Ideas Exchange at Rockefeller Center in NY.

Good luck.

Yes, they usually pay well. Find out which group it is. They love problem solvers.

You have your Environmental Engineering Masters? Why not pursue something consistent with your degree. Engineers work very hard to get the masters. I think you'll get paid for it as well.

What do you mean by financial area and financial ideas exchange? That'll be great if I get placed within the energy group since I'm working with a PE group that does that. Thanks for your response!! Kinda nervous and reviewing Case In Point book currently.

Currently, no one is hiring within Env Eng or Civil Eng. Most engineering practices are at a standstill and I left my eng work last year to go back to grad school because of it. I guess they're waiting for the stimulus funding to kick in and that's when engineering firms will hire again.

I've been applying to IB, mgmt consulting and civil/eng firms as well. So far I had some luck with mgmt consulting. No luck with the other two.
