consulting internship as a sophomore from one of big 4, wondering relevance of consultants in Finance industry outside consultin

I am a sophomore going to be doing an internship with the consulting side of one of the big four this summer and I want to know how consultants rate in the finance industry for example is it easy to switch to other parts of the industry, how relevant are consultants in the finance industry?

Also I plan to apply to one of the MBB later on (junior year) their internship comes with a scholarship. though I'm happy with the one I have now and hopefully I'll find a way to make it work

Hi I'm a sophomore as well. Just curious as to how you got an internship as a sophomore since most of those Big 4 Firms seem to exclusively hire junior interns.

Consultants, regardless of whether you do strategy, implementation, or both, have a reputation for being smart and are considered valuable by many businesses.

Well Chanman got one, and I've heard of others getting advisory internships as well but not at the Big 4. Usually at lesser known firms like Wipfli. If advisory internships don't work out, go for something like a financial analyst internship.

Hey by any chance are you talking about the PwC Start internship? Can you shoot me a pm so I can talk to you about it? I was thinking about applying for that, but I'm not sure if my resume is strong enough. I'd be a rising junior with a 3.5gpa at one of their target schools (only for accounting though), executive leadership in a fraternity, a 6 month internship abroad, and a 6 month internship here in the states. Even if it's not the Start internship can you still pm me cause I'm trying to get a Big 4 advisory internship since I come from a non target school for MBB / tier 2 but all the Big 4 firms recruit on campus because of our accounting program.

No - provided you had a good reason why you didn't want to pursue a full time offer at a B4.
Somewhat relevant experience > nothing

Hey, how's your art career going?
