Consulting internship from non-target

I am a junior finance major at a non-target school with a 3.3 GPA. I just recently decided I want to pursue a career in consulting. My goal is to earn at internship at a big4/T2 firm for summer 2025. I have solid networking skills and have applied for several externships in the consulting/VC/PE fields.

For those of you who have dealt with someone in my situation or maybe have even been in my situation, what are the next best steps to take? I understand that because of my GPA and school that this is going to be an uphill battle, but I’m ready to face that challenge. Any advice would be helpful.

Consulting recruiting is almost done for internships so your best bet is to find another internship in a different field then recruit full-time or go for smaller boutique consulting shops
