Consulting Interview Practice

Hi guys,

I'm currently doing a summer analyst stint at an investment bank and will likely choose to shop around in the fall for other IBs and consulting gigs. I'm way more interested in consulting but I did not perform well for summer internship interviews. I'm ending my internship in a week and am hoping to get some practice in. I've done about 20+ cases before, mainly in December, January and February.

I'm looking for two kinds of people:

  1. Someone who has either gotten an offer from MBB or is currently/used to work at MBB. I only want one or two cases from you. Through practice, I realized that my case partners were giving me cases at too slow a pace/directing me incorrectly in certain situations. In addition, I believe that the advice from someone who has actually made it is much more valuable.

  2. Someone who will consistently practice with me. I'm hoping to do about 10 cases a week. So I give you a case, you give me a case, and that counts as 1. If you could exchange 2 or 3 with me on a weekly basis going forward, that would be great. 3-4 hours commitment at a time.

Please PM me if you're interested. I plan on beginning practice after July 29th.

Check out caseinterview.com and LOMS (if you have the money for it...its very expensive), these are very good prep material. I think the first type is the most valuable, after you "get it" you can basically do cases on your own, but in order for that to happen you need someone to tell you exactly what they are looking for.

Already have used both those sources through summer internship recruiting and am planning on continuing to use these going forward.

bbjhvaThere's a world beyond MBB too, just fyi. OW, Booz, Monitor, Parthenon, AT Kearney, LEK, slightly specialized shops like Charles River, etc.

All the best though..that's great commitment on your part and exactly what you need to learn how to 'ace the case'.

I would love getting an offer at any of those firms, so I don't really have an elitist mindset the way that I may have initially given off.
