Consulting Summer 2026 Timeline
I am a sophomore planning to recruit for a 2026 Consulting internship. Previously I thought that most postings (besides MBB) would come in late summer - September. I am seeing a few postings, like A&M Transaction Advisory that say 2025 but were posted a few days ago. Is that just incorrectly dated? I am starting to get scared I am missing the window.
Based on the most helpful WSO content, consulting recruiting timelines can vary significantly depending on the firm and region. For MBB (McKinsey, Bain, and BCG), deadlines for summer internships typically open earlier, with some firms introducing deadlines as early as July for full-time applicants or those with "exploding offers." T2 firms (like Oliver Wyman, Deloitte, etc.) often aim to lock in candidates slightly earlier than MBB, with some deadlines occurring in late summer.
Regarding postings like A&M Transaction Advisory labeled as "2025," it’s possible that the date is incorrect or refers to a different recruiting cycle. However, it’s always better to err on the side of caution. If you’re seeing postings now, it’s a good idea to start preparing your applications and networking immediately to ensure you don’t miss any opportunities.
To stay ahead: 1. Monitor postings regularly, as some firms may release applications earlier than expected. 2. Begin networking with consultants and alumni to gain insights into specific firm timelines. 3. Prepare your resume, cover letters, and case interview skills early to be ready for any unexpected deadlines.
If you’re still unsure about specific firms, consider reaching out to their HR or recruiting teams for clarification.

Some firms like Wyman and Kearney are pretty early/the same time as MBB. A lot of of the other firms like Accenture, Deloitte, PWC come out later than MBB.
