consulting vs banking

would love to hear if anyone has insights on this - is the work in consulting at junior level more interesting than banking? is it more intellectually stimulating in consulting? for example, do you get more exposure to strategy work in consulting? does m&a banking give you the same strategy/operational exposure? is the job at junior level the same in both field?

apologies for my ignorance — a sophomore interested in learning more about both fields; have heard mix things, some have told me the work in both fields are virtually the same at junior level and others have told me they’re drastically different
