CorpDev / Strategy vs. MBB Consulting?

Curious about how to approach thinking about a first job in corporate development / strategy and MBB consulting. Specifically, I'm wondering about the WSO community's perspectives on taking a job corporate strategy job at a bulge bracket like GS / MS that focuses on internal M&A, valuation and modeling, and corporate strategy versus a management consulting job at MBB.

In my mind, I'm interested in entrepreneurship, growth equity, and venture capital. It seems like those are options that are available to both, but that MBB might have a more defined career path. Both seem to have good exposure to senior management, except that MBB is more client-facing than internally-facing. Exit opps for CorpDev / Strategy seem to be a bit less clear, but along similar lines.
