Deferring for a semester to go to a warzone

I'm trying to break into strategy consulting but only have 1 semester left on my degree.. and haven't had any consulting internships.

I'm considering deferring for a semester to get some work experience that may help me stand out with my application.

I've been offered an opportunity to go to Libya for a 3 month internship managing the logistics of a military hospital for the UN.

Would consulting firms value this unique experience?

Given that I haven't had any consulting experience, am I doomed?

If you took a semester off in your final year, how would you best spend it?
