Deloitte Engagement Controller?

Hi WSO,

I was recently accepted to work as an Engagement Controller Analyst with Deloitte Consulting. The role is back office, controlling project costs through forecasting and budgeting. Essentially, the consultants travel all over working long hours, and then I would be in the background assisting them.

The work itself isn't that exciting, but the hours, workers, brand name and location are all perfect for me. My main concern is exit opportunities in the future if I want to get into corporate finance or another financial analysis role.

Aside from this offer I have one from a firm a notch below B4 for Bval and another for a corporate finance role with a CPG company. The BVal role is the most exciting, but the hours are long and the office is real small, so not sure it's worth it. The CPG company is where I interned and the experience was pretty solid, but I've been told the culture is poor and disorganized.

What would you do in my position? Do you have any knowledge about the position?

Thanks!
