Deloitte Operating Model Changes

Anyone have any info on Deloittes new operating model? I heard they were getting rid of service lines and combining everyone into functional areas?

Any insights on how this is going to affect service line placement for new hires? Specifically for the BTAs?

There's a call scheduled for Monday evening with 4 national directors and all the undergrad and MBA hires where we're going to discuss the new model and how placement will work.

From my understanding (there was also a helpful /r/consulting thread), the S&O group is going to be broken out in to:

  • Strategy & Analytics
  • M&A
  • Enterprise Ops
  • Core Business Ops
  • Human Capital
  • Customer & Marketing

It sounds like BTA aligns right away, so they should be unaffected.

I can update after the call on Monday, too.

Monitor partners were aligned to either Customer & Marketing + Strategy and Analytics. So the "strategy" projects will fall into these silos depending on type. Customer & Marketing will focus on growth strategy, customer growth, etc. Strategy and Analytics will focus more on data strategy, tech strategy, etc.

As of now Deloitte has three consulting arms: BTA, Human Capital and S&O. So from your understanding they're gonna incorporate Human Capital into S&O and reestructure some of the S&O elements? Any ideas what this will look like for analysts currently working at S&O?

I was most interested in how alingment will be determined for undergrad hires, but not a ton of info was shared there besides that we'll find out by early May for the summer start class.

I can try to answer any specific questions if you have them.
