Does MBB office matter for PE recruiting

Does the office you work at for MBB have an impact for PE recruiting?

For example would someone who is at the Atlanta/Houston/DC be viewed less favorable in PE recruiting than NY or SF?

In my experience, if you’re outside the main 4 offices it’s actually near impossible to break into a good PE firm. I wouldn’t describe it as just a bit tougher, but actually insanely tough. One of my friends just went thru PE recruiting from a Texas office and HHs barely wanted to talk to her. She got almost no interviews and told me her experience was looked down upon by interviewers because it was in Texas. I think this sort of attitude is absolute bs but I guess it goes to show how elitist PE is

If your at a tier 2 city would it be worth transferring after internship? Also, I know BCG is a bit tougher for Pe recruiting than Bain and McKinsey. Would a tier 2 city at Bain or McKinsey be better than tier 1 at BCG?

McKinsey or Bain in DC, LA, or Atlanta? Not sure if these are all tier 2 or not but on LinkedIn I have seen MF and UMM exits for all on LinkedIn.
