What can I do with the combination of MBB and RX?
I have got nearly 4 years of MBB experience post college under my belt. I received fast track promotions from BA/AC and did well. Nonetheless, I got increasingly bored and just don‘t see myself at MBB in the long term. At heart, I am a much more quantitative person and eyeing more finance adjacent roles rather than pure strategy consulting.
I did some PE processes but that never really clicked and I am too bearish on the industry to think the grind would be worthwhile.
I tried some corporate interviews but man, that ain‘t just me…
Now an interesting offer landed on my table. Restructuring at a well known firm. They acknowledge that I might lack technicals, but they are willing to invest in my development.
Interviews clicked for me. I really liked the people. Much less shenanigans/saving the world type of schtick as we see sometimes in MBB.
Really good comp and what I heard from the street is that they have been growing insanely fast (while. My MBB regionally is essentially flat since years).
What do you think about this opp? I feel like it could be a great development / step up and bring me much closer to CFO type of roles then my current experience.
