economics consulting case interview?
Hi - I have an interview with Cornerstone Research coming up and was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to prepare for an economic consulting case interview. Thanks so much!
know your basic financial/economic concepts, think out loud, and make sure you double check your answers to see if they make sense before blurring it out.
With economic consulting interviews, if I wanted to work in a practice area such as antitrust, or competition, or auctions, would I need to know a lot of the finance questions? It seems as if everywhere I look, the sample interview questions indicate that finance knowledge is just as necessary as economics. Is there any truth to this observation?
I was given a lot of Finance questions about valuations & risk with my interview at CRA.
I interviewed with Cornerstone and didn't have many finance questions, and the economics questions were fairly light. Unlike a strategy case interview, the questions were short answer. For example: If another player enters this market, what do you expect to happen to the price?
The cases weren't overly complex I didn't think. Cornerstone has a ton of stuff on their website that was helpful to me. Like this:

How can I best prepare for economic consulting cases at places like: Analysis, Cornerstone, NERA? I did some interviews last year with them for summer analyst position and got to final rounds but never passed.
Do you guys have any advices in terms reviewing for econometrics and presenting my research paper?
