Exit Opportunities: CDD, ODD, Integration/Separation Execution

I will be starting in my post-MBA role at KPMG Strategy (M&A) this fall. The 3 M&A services are (1) commercial due diligence (CDD), (2) operational due diligence (ODD), and (3) transaction execution (integration/separation).

I understand CDD and ODD are pre-deal and transaction execution is post-deal. Looking to understand what the exit opportunities for each of the 3 service lines above are as well as key skills developed that will transfer directly over.

Background - originally, my goal post-MBA was investment banking or corporate development. However, COVID had other plans for me. KPMG Strategy came as a next best alternative given the M&A focus. My key strength has always been P&L financial modeling so I definitely want to continue building off that strength, if at all possible, because I believe I’ll excel faster that way.
