Exit Strategy from IBM Consulting by Degrees to Management/Strategy Consulting (Deloitte, PwC, AT Kearney, etc)
Hi everyone,
I recently graduated from a target undergraduate business school, but with a mix of misinformation and naivety I accepted a position with IBM's Consulting by Degrees program. This position lacks the elements of management/strategy consulting and it more closely aligns with delivering technology services similar to Amazon Web Services (AWS).
I am absolutely lost as to how to recruit without the tools that my schools had previously provided. I would really appreciate it if anyone can provide some tips or accounts on what ways to exit from IBM into actual strategy/management consulting firms, like Deloitte, PwC, AT Kearney. Thanks!
in same situation, pm'ed you.
Hello. I'm also in the same shoe. I just joined CbD back in September. Would you mind sharing your experience with me as well?
IBM is well regarded. It exits decently to t2 consulting and to industry.
Just crush your first year and articulate your experience as closely as possible to strategy. Then reapply. If you can get on a brand name client it helps. This means networking your ass off internally and don’t be afraid to “swap up” for projects if needed/applicable.
