EYP to MBB/S&/OW/Kearney (Middle East)

I'm currently an associate at EYP in the region, and will likely receive an early promotion soon. I'd like to apply to entry level positions ideally at MBB but also at S&/OW/Kearney after I get promoted, focusing on the Doha/Riyadh offices.

I am a fluent Arabic speaker and did my MSc at a target (LSE).

Would this be a smart strategy? Am I a good candidate?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, making a lateral move from EYP to MBB, S&/OW/Kearney could potentially be a good strategy, especially if you're looking for more diverse opportunities or a change in work culture. Your fluency in Arabic and your MSc from a target school like LSE would likely be seen as strong assets, especially for offices in Doha/Riyadh.

However, it's important to consider a few things. First, lateral hires at the associate level are not very common, so you'll need to make a strong case for why you're looking to switch. Second, you'll want to consider whether you're okay with potentially starting at the same role (from Associate to Associate) even though you might reach the same salary in the same amount of time at your current firm.

Lastly, remember that every firm has its own culture and way of doing things, so it's important to do your research and make sure it's a good fit for you. Good luck!
