Getting Into Consulting
Hello WSO,
I am looking into getting into consulting at a large(r) firm. I graduated undergrad from a non target state school with a 3.33 cumulative and 3.87 in my finance major. So I’m assuming that’s not great. I have no work experience aside from restaurant work during college. I’m a year out of undergrad and have been running my own business that is doing well. I initially took a year off to apply to law school to do big law/corporate law work but have been unsuccessful this admissions cycle even with a top 1% LSAT score. I don’t know if it would be hard to get into one of these larger firms without an mba but also getting into a top mba with the work experience I have. Is it outlandish to go to law school and work in consulting after law school? I am single and don’t mind the travel with a strong work ethic. Any advice would be great.
