GPA expectations for McK NYC

As the title says, I'm from a west coast target (semi-target for East Coast). I have a Big 4 for sophomore summer and a finance internship at a startup for freshman summer. I'm a VP of a major consulting club on campus (think 100k+ in revenue in a year, and 4-5 projects per semester with Fortune 50-100 companies). I've been networking for the McK NYC office (high chance of referral), but my GPA is 3.65ish (roundable to 3.7) . Will my GPA screw me over for an intern role? Thanks for your guys time and have a great day.

Uphill battle, obv most people at McK will be 3.9+, similar leadership & experience. You’ve done all that you can it seems outside of GPA though so focus on what you can control (improving GPA, networking, etc).

Would a 3.75+ be enough to push myself into the upper echelon and how much of a disadvantage am I coming from a non-HPW school? Should I focus on the West Coast offices to increase my chances?

oh, also I go to another west coast semi-target (it seems like u go to berkley based on the club comment, which is a much larger target than my school) so you will be fine

Depends on what the context is regarding your GPA. What major is the 3.7 in? Plus, a 3.7 from UCB is a lot different than a 3.7 from USC.

Probably not going to cut it, but zooming out, even if you had a 4.0, it would be quite the uphill battle.

MBB summer spots are really tough, and NYO is by far the toughest to get. However, consulting is different than banking in that there are far more full time spots than internship spots (in normal times-- keep in mind that right now we are in an environment where analysts at these firms are struggling to get off the beach and are getting sacked fairly often)
