GPA Strictness for Sophomore MBB Internship

Hi all,

I just received my final GPA for my freshman. Needless to say, it is not optimal (unlike my username). Does anyone know how strict MBB is for diversity internship apps? All advice appreciated.

Just curious, did you think they mainly looked at sophomore year grades or something like that?

I know some universities tend to not look at freshman grades in high school so I get where you’re coming from.

Good luck regardless!

Also at HYP here. Currently a rising junior but had a tough freshman year due to personal challenges. Not a 3.2, but definitely not optimal. Although I don't qualify for the diversity applications, worst case scenario, you may not land an offer your sophomore year, but I'm confident that if you put your head down and strive for better grades, you'll be just fine by the time it's time to apply for regular summer applications. I managed to increase my GPA from 3.4 to 3.9 (I took five/six courses per semester as well as two courses every summer for the past two years).

Don't be too discouraged by your current GPA! Although MBB typically sees 3.6/3.7 as the threshold, I know a *few* peers who managed to get interviews at NE offices with a 3.4/3.5.

Best of luck with everything!! :) DM me if you have any other questions!
