How should I reflect GPA on my resume?
Hey everyone, I am curious if I can change the way that I list my GPA at all as I get into applying for internships for 2022. For some background, I transferred internally from my (non-target state) school's biological science college to the business/management college. If I exclude my biological science college semester, my GPA goes up to about 3.95. As I want to recruit for MBB, obviously this GPA would give me a significant leg up in the process as a non-target student (when I include that semester, my GPA is around 3.85).
Will MBB accept a "major GPA" designation without cumulative GPA? How can I adjust the way I list my GPA on my resume to give me the best chance? I don't think that my one semester at another internal college should be reflective at all of my academic ability from a business standpoint, and most alumni from my school who have made it to MBB post a 3.9 and above.
I’d just round to 3.9, if pressed say 3.85. That is still a stellar GPA, and if they are REALLY such hardos about a perfect gpa, just say how the bio courses you took were a lot more intensive than the business ones.
Just put both (major and cumulative). Either way both very high so no problem there. Sub 3.9 get interviews. Also, they will ask for your transcript anyway so doesn't make a difference really.
Do not split your major and cum GPA unless your school splits them (most don't) -- (a) if it's not split that way by your school it's just a made-up metric and (b) the only times I've seen resumes with them split it was clearly done because one was way worse than the other, and puts more of a focus on it (yours isn't even bad -- not showing cum GPA would raise a red flag though)
Put 3.85 -- rounding up half a point is pretty big. You'd probably get away with it, but it's dishonest
Also 3.85 isn't as bad as you think. If you're really that worried, add some joke classes and pad your GPA
I would just take out that semester, then call it “Adjusted GPA”, then just footnote it
you can't just "adjust" out your worst grades
So clearly, if you knew anything about banking, you would’ve read that as sarcasm and seen that as an allusion to comical Adjusted EBITDA efforts, as shown by the use of the words “adjusted” and “footnote”

2) I'm on the consulting forum, not IB -- in consulting, we'd just put the GPA as 3.95 and say "Source: Company Analysis"
