I need some feedback!

I was wondering if someone here has experienced this and if they can provide some feedback on the situation. I was invited to write the McKinsey Problem Solving Test but due to an unexpected emergency, I couldn't attend the session at my school at the scheduled time. I got in touch with the recruiter about it and was told that they will review my application without the test and follow up next week. A day later i received their standard rejection letter, but i never got the chance to even write the test!!!??? will this count against me if i apply again, or go in their records?

If someone can provide clarification, i would appreciate it tremendously!
