top line advice here is that if you are interested in consulting, strive for MBB above all else but T2s can be good options as well partner comp at MBB starts at 1M and only goes up, varying on how commercially successful you are. a reasonable year as a tenured partner could mean 2-3M, a really good year could mean 4-5+. so yes, you will be easily able to afford a 2M home.
