Is it possible to exit from KPMG Deal Advisory directly to PE?
Looking to intern with KPMG this summer, and I was curious what sort of path there would be to take to get from KPMG Deal Advisory to PE
It’s a long shot, especially in the US. UK slightly better chance but you must still be at a target school for the miracle to happen. I’m assuming the deal advisory department is a financial due diligence type advisory role not their m&a arm.
Your best bet may be to move to their Investment Banking Division and lateral to a reputable MM IBD firm and finally move to a small PE firm. Second best option is to move to their Strategy consulting arm and do a bunch of PE DD’s and network like crazy to lateral to a PE client.
So do you think I should be looking for a better opportunity for this summer?

In Toronto I've seen a handful leave Corp Fin directly to MM PE
