Is it too late to network ?

Hi all! I go to a target for the big firms, but have been struggling a lot for the past few months because of the pandemic/other reasons and haven’t networked besides one coffee chat done during the spring. I’ve attended a few summer sessions for different firms, but is it too late to reach out to alumni for coffee chats? Or is it too close to recruiting starting for it to make a difference?

Yes! I am meaning for consulting firms like BCG, etc. I am not sure how to change my header

Looking at recruiting this year for FT as well, but I don't think consulting requires the type of several months in advance extensive recruiting as banking. If you are at a non-target, it might be very hard and require extensive networking, but from a target school I think it helps to talk to people just to learn a bit more and have contacts but its not as networking focused as banking for first rounds. At least from my experience talking to people and the career center at a target.
