Is lateralling common for upward movement?
Hey guys.
As many of you know, it's not rare to see people lateral to different firms in IB and Biglaw as a way to get a better or second chance at making their way to MD/Partner if they feel they aren't going to make it. Does the same thing occur in Consulting where someone from for example McKinsey could lateral to one of the Big 4 if he feels his chances of Partner at are in jeopardy? Is this common in consulting or is it something that's unheard of?
Thanks!
Never heard of it happening personally, but theoretically it could happen
