Is networking/prepping for MBB a waste of time for me?

Hi,

I'm a rising senior at Vanderbilt looking to break into consulting. I've been interning with an investment management team for an insurance company, but am looking to transition into a post-grad full time job in consulting. Of course, I would like to get into MBB and get an MBA at a top B-school, but I also know I need to be allocating my networking time appropriately for where I am. I have a 3.64 GPA and am also a transfer student from Emory. I'm worried my less than outstanding GPA and status as a transfer student will hurt my chances and that I should therefore focus on Tier 2/Big 4 firms. If anyone has relatable experiences or advice it would be greatly appreciated.
