Job Change Advice

I am currently working at a big 4 firm as a senior in a risk advisory practice (not Transactions). I would like to get a job in private equity / venture capital, but I have found it to be very difficult to break in from my current role. I recently received a job offer from a large healthcare organization’s Strategic Planning group and was wondering what the exit opportunities to join a private equity / venture capital firm from a job like this? Do PE / VC firms hire from Strategy / Corporate Development groups? Any guidance would be much appreciated.
