JP Morgan Corporate Strategy Offer
I have a summer offer with JPM's Corporate Analyst Development Program. I could be placed in a number of different departments (business management, strategy, analytics, project management or consulting). The full time is a 2 year rotation across these departments. Does anybody have any insight into what kind of work I would be doing in a corporate strategy role and how it's perceived and both business schools and consulting firms? It's a great offer in terms of comp and location, but there's not a whole lot of information on the nature of the work.
Isn't this a middle office position? Heard there's some work with Legal as well
Not really sure. I think the only "client" work is with JPM itself, but I think it's comped significantly more than pure back office like hr.

From what I've read, corporate strategy roles typically fall in middle office roles. Not entirely sure what the difference between middle and back office roles are.
Either way, it's not very useful to classify a role as front/middle/back and prefer or disregard it. If front office means better pay and prestige but 100 hour weeks, I'll take the "worse" middle office role.
Don't take it. Wait for Cornell Days and you can leverage the offer with other firms.
I was offered an internship in something similar at a different BB for my sophomore summer and it was not a very fulfilling experience. Many of the analysts who I worked with were trying to jump ship and there is very little finance to the work done.
Only upside is that I was able to do internal mobility to IBD, but I imagine this would be significantly more difficult for FT.
Any updates to this? Anyone else have any more insight into this function at JPM?
It's a MO/ BO type role, but I heard that Accenture has taken in people from this program? Unsure tho
