Kris Safar*va Consulting Books?

Anyone familiar with the litany of recently published consulting books by Kris Saf*rova? I've seen mixed reviews on Amazon and I'm skeptical for two reasons: a double digit number of them seemed to have been published within the last two years (how many high quality books can truly be written in that time frame) + they seemed to be heavily pushed / sponsored. My gut is that the books are simply advertisements for her firm (hence my name censoring- no free advertisements from me!). But I'm interested if they have any substance or use at all. For context, I'm not a consultant, nor am I looking to become one, rather I am in a position where I do strategy work for a portfolio of small/LMM firms and thus enjoy reading practical  consultant/strategy oriented books.

Not familiar with her at all, but just gauging by her LinkedIn it does seem that she was a consultant for a decent amount of time and her websites use former consultants to create content, so that's not too bad I suppose

Personally though I'm just always skeptical of the types of books that claim they can teach the skills from consulting. I've learned a ton in consulting outside of just industry knowledge type stuff, but I don't think they're the kinds of things you can really teach somebody through a book. Rather, I feel like the strengths are less technical and sometimes hard to define, and are usually picked up from:

  • Apprenticeship models of working
  • Having to deliver big pieces of work while stressed and facing time crunches
  • Having to create structured approaches and key criteria (i.e. "frameworks") to bring clarity to a problem where there previously was little
  • Learning how to manage people and projects -- including delegation vs teaching decisions, prioritization / managing expectations, providing upward feedback, etc.

I have no knowledge of her particular publications, but I also just dislike business-y self-improvement-y type books in general. Also keep in mind actual consultants are not usually the target audience of those types of books, so they may provide more value to you since you don't have the same set of experiences
