Lateral Entry into Deloitte S&O

Hello there,

I graduated from college in 2013. I have been for the last 2 years working for an internal consulting group at a BB. I feel I have learned as much as I could from my current role and wanted to pursue opportunities in Management Consulting. Based on discussions on this forum, I take it it is virtually impossible to land an Associate role at an MBB laterally without an MBA.

I wanted to target Deloitte S&O since I worked with their consultants for a few months in my current team and found them/ their work to be pretty impressive.

My questions are as follows:

1) Any advise as to how I should try to reach out to people from S&O. Should I try messaging recruiters on LinkedIn or try to find a contacts who can forward my resume?

2) Any thoughts on the typical kind of projects S&O works on in the Financial Industry space?

3) Which other non-MBB firms hire associates laterally?

Thanks.

Yes Deloitte allows lateral hires. If by Associate role you mean MBA level (so Senior Consultant) for Deloitte, you're going to be disappointed. Your best case scenario with 2 years experience is consultant, and you'll likely be offered an analyst role, perhaps with higher pay an entry level.

Source: Received Deloitte MBA offer, Deloitte guys were at my wedding, and family member tried to lateral into Deloitte with 3 years experience at Fortune 50 company.
