Lateral Movement

Fresh undergrad 3 months into Tier-2 MC (think LEK, ATK, Parthenon, S&, OW, Deloitte S&O), want to know the disadvantages and advantages of moving into another Tier 2 MC within the first 6 months. My plan is to do get into VC/PE as soon as possible and ultimately do an MBA.

Reason for movement: Sector preferences.

Possible disadvantage could be bad relations, losing 6 months & might look bad on resume for MBA/PE entry (or good?).

Any suggestions/comments are very welcome.

If I don't leave now, then I won't be able to go to the other firm, because I want to exit consulting after 2 years maximum. But not leaving after 1 year to the other firm is based under the assumption that 1 year (current firm) + 1 year (second consulting firm) + 1 year (PE/VC) would look bad on resume

1 year is the minimum resume acceptable time frame. Less than that you'll be explaining it the next 5 years of your life. If you hate the job, then you do you, but I wouldn't leave for something a silly as sector preferences. The skillset you're building is still highly relevant and by staying a year, you'll prove you weren't leaving because you couldn't hack it.
