Lateral or Upward move? Opinions wanted.
Question/ inquiry. I have been with a major defense contractor working in FP&A for around a year and a half. An opportunity presented itself for me to go to work for a major consulting firm. While I feel that I would very much enjoy working in consulting, is it the best move? Would I be taking a step back or advancing myself for the next stage of my career?
I understand that they are both two different worlds but I am trying to understand in the eyes of a perspective employer weather this move is a good one or not.
Thoughts?
Thank you for your feedback.
If you think you'd enjoy consulting work, I'd say this is a no-brainer. Go with the consulting gig and don't look back.
