Latin American Studies Minor: increase opportunities?

Hi. I'm thinking about pursuing a latin american studies minor in addition to an econ major from UChicago. I really liked my spanish classes in high school, and even if I don't get a minor, I feel like it would be good if I mastered the spanish language.

If I got a Latin American studies minor, would it be beneficial if managers and/or bosses wanted to ship me to Hispanic countries for whatever reason? Any anecdotal evidence to support your claims?

This would likely only matter if you were gunning for LatAm coverage groups, and having spoken with a few people who were in LatAm groups at BBs, they really prefer folks with native fluency. Even if you're very good at Spanish, it's unlikely that it will benefit you in any tangible way during recruitment. Probably best to focus on your Econ classes and take Accounting and CorpFin at Booth.
