learn casing in a week
have to learn casing for MBB FT in a week. have never cased before; how to prep? any advice would be much appreciated.

My suggestion in that time frame is to grind Case in Point to memorize the frameworks and binge Matt Huang’s videos on YouTube.
I’ve done similar for firms both during college FT recruiting and a few years later in my career, I've never needed more than 1-2 weeks of study but I know I'm an outlier (If you have basic business sense, learn common frameworks, and can talk through your math out loud, you’re fine, very much paretos principle). Prioritize being well spoken, likeable, and use your critical thinking skills over being a robot. As long as you aren’t incompetent, you should have a decent shot.
Also, use AI for your mocks. I used it for my recent interviews, and it’s a game-changer IMO. Use the audio version to hold a discussion, prompt it well and it’ll act as a solid practice partner and interviewer, critiquing your case performance and behaviorals. It's especially useful if you don't have anyone to practice with, good luck
Hard to watch Matt Huang's videos though... his personality screams conceded douchebag to me.
I can see where you're coming from, nevertheless, I found the way he broke down cases extremely effective

I don’t have a set template I used for the mock case interviews, so instead I included the starter prompt I used for behavioral interview prep, often I would ask it to switch gears to case prep after starting with this prompt. Maybe it will give you some ideas. My one recommendation is to be prescriptive with the context and role you give the AI (otherwise it's garbage in, garbage out).
Instead of a generic prompt, feed it your resume, the target job description, types of cases you want to practice, and any other relevant info. Then start the session, here is an example prompt you can use to start the session:
"Act as a manager in the [Division Name] division at [Firm Name]. You are conducting my second-round interview for an Associate position (I have 2 years of experience doing XYZ).
Follow this exact process:
Ask me one question at a time, using both behavioral and competency-based technical questions that would be asked for this type of role.
Wait for my response.
After I reply, optionally ask a targeted follow-up if needed, or immediately provide a detailed breakdown of my answer covering:
Finally, provide an optimal model response tailored specifically to my background and your feedback."
I imagine this can be better catered for case interviews rather than behavior questions. Either way, the back and forth was really valuable for me. Often, if I preferred its response more than my original, I would re-answer the question and let it evaluate my revision to the question before moving on to the next.

I was in a similar position to you. I had 10 days to prep for mck case interview and ended up getting an offer. Id first learn the basics of casing (I watched a lot of mock case videos and some YouTube videos explaining the basics) but in my opinion the best thing you can do is just practice. Just do as many mock cases as you can with people that will give you quality feedback. I personally posted on Reddit and met with other ppl case prepping, and we cased each other. It’s helpful to case other people too so you can see it from the interviewers perspective and pick up on some positive and negative aspects of casing.
But other than that, I wouldn’t cram in too much preparation the day before and day of. Just try to relax and get in the right headspace so you can be at your best.
A week is daunting but it is definitely doable! Also just remember to be confident. Sometimes it helps to just tell yourself you’re the best person in the world and have overconfidence, even if it feels weird. You got an intevruw, so you’re definitely qualified for the job - just give it your all and you got it.
