MBB Consulting from University of Texas / McCombs Undergrad?

Hey everyone,

I was wondering what MBB recruiting was like at the McCombs school at UT Austin. How difficult is it to get an offer at MBB in say the Dallas office out of McCombs? How many people typically get summer and FT offers each year and how competitive is it versus banking? Also, thoughts on Dallas/Houston offices vs the New York/Boston/SF offices for MBB?

Thanks

First, to give you some background, I am a chemical engineering student at UT who is starting full-time at MBB this fall (the MBB firms really like recruiting engineers at UT -- this year we have chemical engineers who are going to all three firms).

I can't really speak too much on how many McCombs students get MBB offers, but I know for sure that all three MBB firms do recruit at UT, and there is a strong pipeline of students at each of the firms.

I haven't heard of anyone from UT who has gone to a non-Dallas/Houston office, but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened. There are lots of opportunities in the Dallas and Houston offices in the energy, consumer goods, healthcare, telecom, etc. sectors.
