MBB final rounds?

I have final rounds at McK and BCG coming up soon. I submitted my application for Bain but deadline is not for another week or so. I'm an advanced degree candidate but Bain is recruiting at my school this year.

Bain gave a presentation recently and I'm pretty intrigued at the somewhat apparent culture difference. I obviously don't know what will happen at my final rounds, but don't want to miss out on the chance of interviewing at Bain and spend an eternity going "what if?" because of timelines. Does anyone know:

1. In the small-but-not-zero chance that I receive an offer from either McK or BCG, how long do I have to decide? A day? A week? A month?
2. Should I try to get an expedited interview process with Bain? If so, how?

I've already read this post (http://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/leveraging-mck-final-round-to-bai…) and contacted the OP of that thread.

Can't comment on specific offices (don't know where you are) but standard is 30 days. However, this is superceded by your schools policy on offer timelines.

Typically, you would have a few weeks to accept an offer. Doesn't hurt asking the Bain recruiters for expedited timeline but only do so if and when you have an offer in hand from the others. It's unlikely they would expedite you if you do not have an offer in hand.

  1. For OCR, this is often dictated by your school. MBA programs often provide months, but general graduate career services might not have as much pull.
  2. Can't hurt to try. I think the pitch is pretty straightforward. Something like, "I have interviews at McK and BCG, but based on what I know about Bain, there is some [unique cultural appeal blah blah blah]. I don't want to miss an opportunity to find the right fit because of timing issues.," should suffice. This isn't IBD where banks intentionally schedule on top of each other.

Some completely unsolicited (and potentially contentious) advice: I found the cultural differences between Bain and BCG to be far less that between McK and either B. Most of the triple-offerees I know either made a snap call in favor of McK or labored between the other two.

Good luck!

Thanks for giving me an idea of the timelines on these things! I didn't apply through campus interviewing, but I am currently a student at a major target interviewing in a semi-normal timeline so hopefully the timelines are somewhat lenient.

And @"brj", I've heard similar things about the culture differences. I was pretty set on one of the two MB when I started interviewing, but now I'm kind of wishy washy because the interview experience has been pretty positive at both of the firms thus far.
