MBB research back office vs Big 4 consulting front

Hi there,

I am an undergrad at a semi-target school and was offered internships at Big 4 Consulting and MBB Research (think McK Knowledge, BCG DRS). I assume that MBB has a better brand but the role is back-office, whereas the Big 4 internship is client-facing front-office.

I also want to note that the Big 4 role is within the Management Consulting arm and is not the strategy arm like Strategy& and EY-Parthenon

I plan to apply for front-office consulting roles in MBB and Tier 2 next year. Which one would put me in a better position?

MBB only has brand recognition in consulting IF you are doing the consulting itself. Big 4 would be the no-brainer here, without question, unless you want to have a career in research/library science instead of consulting.

Remember, always be kind-hearted.
