MM IB -> MBB FT

Hello all. I am starting my summer internship at a MM bank soon. I have been thinking about my long-term career and realize that I would be much more interested in corporate strategy as my eventual path than PE. I am thinking of recruiting  MBB for full time since it makes more sense for this goal.

While I know it is a MM and not EB/BB I still do not believe it is worth the career switch unless it is MBB. I also would not be recruiting for NYC. I attend a target for the city I plan on recruiting for, have a 3.9high, and have two internships/externships prior to this IB one (not consulting ones). I say all this because I want to keep my expectations realistic for my chances.

If I have a shot, how should I approach it? I would first reach out to alumni at the firms, but I have never done any consulting interview prep before. I also saw that some of the roles open July. This means I should get onto it sooner rather than later, but also am not sure how I would navigate these interviews if I am in an internship.

I know my odds are not likely great but also acknowledge I'm lucky to have an internship in the first place. If this does not work out I know I can always switch over with an MBA in the future, but wanted to try and be proactive.

I appreciate any help!

i think you have good shots

since you're not set on PE, i'd also target T2/2.5 firms. they have good corporate strategy exit ops as well.
