New Tool for Consulting Interview Prep - Looking for Feedback
Hey everyone,
I'm about a month into a project called A Case A Day on Substack which aims to provide daily case interviews based on current business news for prospective consulting hires and current consultants looking to continue to sharpen their skillset. I'm gearing this towards early career consultants as well as MBA and business school students.
I was hoping to get some feedback from the community on whether this idea would provide any value. We are still tweaking the format and any direction would be invaluable!
Currently we share an overview of the story, a background and case interview question, quantitative and qualitative exhibits, and then an example response. We try to keep the entire case a ~7-10 minute read.
A couple of questions we're trying to answer:
- Is this concept of interest? Does the combination of daily practice and real business scenarios provide enough value?
- Is the format close enough to an actual case interview? We realize a guided case interview is a different experience but were trying to approximate it as best we could.
I am new to this forum so I can't share the link. Happy to directly send the link to anyone interested though!
Hey there,
Your project, A Case A Day, sounds like a fantastic initiative! It's a great way to keep prospective consultants and current ones on their toes with daily case interviews based on current business news. It's a unique blend of practical application and theory that could be very beneficial.
As for your questions:
The concept is definitely of interest. The combination of daily practice and real business scenarios is a great way to keep skills sharp and relevant. It's like a daily workout for the brain!
As for the format, it's hard to replicate the exact experience of a case interview, but it sounds like you're on the right track. The key is to ensure that the cases are challenging and diverse enough to cover a wide range of scenarios and industries.
Remember, the best way to learn is by doing. So, a platform that provides a daily opportunity to practice is a valuable resource. Keep up the good work!
