NYC vs, West Coast

Does anyone have any insight into the major advantages/ disadvantages of pursuing strategy consulting (m/b/b)in NY vs. San Francisco?

Specifically, I am curious about how work flow (work type), lifestyle, and exit opps are affected by the decision to work in one of these locations as opposed to the other.

Is there any practical relevance to the fact that the firm's main office is in NY?

Thanks.
