Office Perks - Fair or Restrictive?
Imagine a consulting boutique based in Europe that offers the following day-to-day perks:
- Evening meal stipend of 15EUR/15GBP per person but must be ordered from 20:00 on
- Taxi/rideshare home reimbursed, but must be ordered from 22:00 on
Bear in mind hours are typically 09:00-18:30/19:00 with days ending after that being a 1-2 monthly occurrence. Would this seem fair or harsh?
'Fair' or 'restrictive' depends on your reference point.
By (North American) MBB standards, those allowances are pretty weak, although the actual work hours seem rather light.
Right, hence why I said European boutique - I think the comparison should be to peers and considering the work hours it seems nice to have this as a bonus.

The stipend seems small, depending on the city. But with those hours, anything on top is a bonus.
