outside mbb
are there smaller firms that offer more than mbb in terms of compensation and exit opportunities (like the eb firms in banking)?

bump
I recall reading that small firms like Putnam or Mars & Co paid pretty well, but I dont know anything about them, to be honest.
In terms of exits, I don't really see any small firm beating MBB on average (some exceptions probably exist at the individual level of course). Fact is, being at MBB does lead a lot of recruiters to reach out from really good firms all the time (less so in the last 12-18 months, given global context)
Sometimes it'll be the same firms, but for very different roles / levels (heard this second hand from a friend at Bain who was at Oliver Wyman before)
All in Y1 for Capital One BA/SA is 130k-135k, and I know folks who exited to tech/fintech in the 180-200 range after their 2 years in the program. MBB 100% takes the cake in other industries though.
