P&G Account Manager as the starting point of consulting career?

I have researched online and found that some of the MBB people worked in P&G as an Account Manager before.

However, I wonder if they are just one in a million. I would really like to know more about people's opinions on P&G Customer Business Development (CBD), which P&G said it is more than sales, but a real consultant in FMCG as they help their clients to develop/ grow their business.

After all, FMCG is not really professional or prestigious when it comes to comparison with banking/ finance/ accounting. So I really want to know how is the prospect of working as an Account Manager in P&G and wonder if it is a wise choice for targeting MBB as a future career.

In my (developing) country P&G Marketing is one of the biggest feeders to MBB consulting on par with Big 4. I would suggest that international FMCG in general is seen as fairly prestigious in developing countries, because those are almost the only F500 companies with strong presence in these countries. As for the U.S., it is probably not seen as an exceptional experience because there are numerous gigs in all kinds of F500 companies, including great opportunities like GE leadership development programs etc.

In my city, P&G is the best place for marketing. And I assume this is the case over the world?

I also have big 4 audit offers. However, in my city, big 4 audit is regarded as a bad job due to excessive workload and terrible long working hours. Also, big 4 in my city intakes a lot of graduates annually.

But I know big 4 guarantees a professional qualification of CPA and the future prospect should be good if you work your way up.

In my admittedly short experience on this earth, I've found designer girls to be freaks in the bedroom and ladies on the street as a rule. Classic girlfriend material. If you're at the HQ in Cinci, most of your "colleagues" that are your age are going to fall into that category. Lucky you.

1) What are your other options? If you don't have comparable offers this thread is a waste of time

2) If you don't have a P&G offer, this thread is a waste of time. Put yourself in the situation to explore this possibility first.

3) What the hell? Marketing and audit are your options? That's so completely bi-polar. The fact that you even brought that up shows how confused you are.

4) Do something because you like it, not because you want to go through 2 years of "tolerable" with a "chance" of getting into firms with statistically a 1% acceptance rate. Come on bro.
