Phd's vs bachelor's and MBA's

Hi all, after a couple of friends mentioned Phd's interviewing them at MBBs it made me wonder the following: Do Phd holders have the same tasks as an analyst holding a bachelors or MBA? For those in the industry how do Phd's tend to perform vs non Phd's

Hi,

I can only speak for my consulting firm where I work in the life science division but when I started (as associate - I have an MSc) most other associates had an MSc but some PhDs started as associates and some MScs started as analysts. The determining factor was school and how much prior work experience they had. Since my division was technical having an MSc was good but having a PhD in life science was overkill as spending 4 years of studying how aryl rings in drugs affect alpha-helix based protein receptors won't help to conduct an overview of the glaucoma market in Japan. My point is that in consulting for certain industries its overkill
