Pivot from FP&A to T&R Consulting?

Roughly 4 years post undergrad with experience first in IB and now at a large PublicCo FP&A. Starting to feel stagnant in my current role and looking at potential next steps. Similar corporate finance roles, particularly in FP&A, seem like they would have similar cons in terms of both career progression and intellectual stimulation. Pure corp dev roles seem interesting, but very company-dependent on how valued this position is depending on the growth strategy.

I've recently come across turnaround & restructuring roles which from my understanding are very operationally focused advisory roles for distressed companies. Seems very interesting on a intellectual level and assuming better comp than large corporate. I think strong technical & excel skills can overlap from general corporate finance, but I can imagine those with prior Rx/distressed experience is what these type of roles is looking for, or at minimum coming straight from something like IB.

Does anyone have any insights on whether this type of move is possible from corporate and any personal experience with pros / cons in this career path?
