PwC Transaction Services - how long should people stay?

Thinking about exit ops for PwC CMAAS, how long should people stay/ what are the good exit ops?

I've been talking to a lot of colleagues and they say leave as a first year senior or a first year manager (after bonus). I wonder if I stayed too long. Public accounting doesn't seem to be as highly regarded as it once was, especially with so many systems/ softwares. I actually think the people that left at 1st year senior are positioned the best, maybe even the people that left before making senior. Seems they got big salary jump, better work-life balance, and no regrets. Also, (and most importantly) they have industry experience now.

Any thoughts? I don't want to become one of these bitter, overweight directors that sucks the life out of every room because of the accumulated contempt I have for my job.
