Questions about Moving from Investment Banking to Consulting
I've been working for GS for the past 5 years (previously worked at MS for 3 years) and I'm Senior Associate (MO position SEC DIV) at GS and have MBA (non top tier). I'm exploring mobility/career change and I've my eye on consulting.
I've been doing some research online and wanted to get feedback on what type of consulting position I could potentially qualify for. I've been browsing the Deloitee career portal and I've noticed that most of the senior consultant positions require 10 years of consulting experience. It's unclear to me if my MS/GS experience(consulting lines of business is a component of the function), transferable skills setts, and MBA would qualify me for an associate type of role.
With the above work experience, would it be difficult for me to land associate/mid level consulting role and what are some potential roadblock I will encounter? I'm okay working outside the big 4.
